About the Brand

Hey there! 

I’m Keosha J, the designer and creative force behind Opposites Attract.

Fashion has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I officially stepped into this amazing world when I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Houston in 2017, but my love for styling and creating started way before that.

Back in high school, I was the girl who would light up at the chance to help someone style an outfit. Working retail at stores like Forever 21, I thrived on putting looks together and curating displays. I’ll never forget the excitement of customers asking for outfit advice — I was that girl running around, grabbing the perfect pieces, and living for the moment they said, “I love this!”

But my path wasn’t always straight. I originally studied medicine, thinking it was the “right” choice, but my heart wasn’t in it. I craved creativity, passion, and a career that would light me up inside. That’s when I pivoted, took a beginner’s sewing class, and started designing pieces from home. I’d sew dresses and sell them to Instagram models before influencer culture was even a thing — all for $50 to $100. It was a hustle, but it sparked something real in me.

Fast forward to now — after launching my first brand, Melan’Je, I’m reintroducing myself and my vision through Opposites Attract. This brand is a true reflection of who I am — a fusion of glam and edge, boldness and sophistication, class and confidence. It’s for the women who own their power, exude “IT girl” energy, and aren’t afraid to be unapologetically themselves. My goal? To create pieces that make you feel unstoppable — whether you’re in heels, sneakers, or somewhere in between.
